FlexZ Hunter D

This innovation is brilliant in helping to achieve a comfortable and quiet mouth. Turtle Top™ with Flex keeps the mouthpiece centred and arched over the tongue at all times, encouraging relaxation. This comfortable mouthpiece re-focuses the inattentive mouth back onto the rein aids in order to achieve a soft consistent contact. By combining this mouthpiece with a D-Ring it enhances directional control making it exceptionally good for tight turns during faster work as the mouthpiece should not slide across the mouth. It’s also good for dressage as it gives the rider greater shoulder control on a circle and helps set up the bend when changing the rein or with lateral work. The stability the D-Ring offers along with the clever design of the mouthpiece is often useful for horses that are overactive in the mouth in a loose ring design.

    Turtle top hunter dee

After trialling many many bits, I was recommended this by bit bank, what can I say, ANAZING! My horse was a constant chomper, and went around like a giraffe. The first time in this bit, he was relaxed , not chomping, and collected. We were able to work on a loose rein, and the slightest touch he would collect, and work beautifully.

    Turtle Top- amazing

I'm definately a skeptic when it came to any sort of "gimmick" horse gear but wow am I a convert. Have always had cheap bits but my new off the track TB was constantly chewing the bit, avoiding the contact by going above and below, tossing her head, trying to stick her tongue out. Would be fine on a loose rein but as soon as contact picked up shed also back off forward. Day 1 of this bit and her mouth settled down and in one ride we had flexion, softness, forward and stretching into the contact. Absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend!

This but has been fantastic for my ottb. We have consistently had trouble with contact, he often ducks behind the contact and doesn’t really stretch too it. He is very sensitive with a crowded mouth and fat tongue, but not strong at all. I tried the loose ring and noticed some improvement but found that he was still a little unsteady. Previously my horse worked better in eggbuts (unfortunately my hands aren’t as still as I would like), and since changing to the hunter D I have noticed a huge change with him actually being happy to reaching forward and take up the contact! Fantastic bit.

Although I was hesitant at first as these bits are a little expensive, Furstration took over and I brought this bit for a Galloper who would mark on one side very time he done fast work or raced . Since using the Turtle top he hasn’t marked at all, his breathing appears more relaxed and better in both slow and fast work and I’m gaining a lovely soft connection to the bridle. The difference in the horse is amazing his comfortable and happy and it’s showing in his work. I’m Very happy With the turtle top I have purchased another. You get what you pay for.
