The eggbutt provides stability to the horse who is inconsistent in the contact and protection from pinching.
The Ported Barrel was created to relieve pressure on the tongue via the the medium port, which creates space for the tongue. The Barrel joint relieves pressure on the bars by spreading it over a larger area and limiting the nut cracker action of a conventional snaffle.

Has Changed My Riding Relationship with my Mare
I have a Stardbred mare after years of owning and competing thoroughbreds. After starting with a new instructor, she suggested a new bit as my mare was hanging on my hands. Good for sensitive mouths
My WB mare has a small mouth, and is quite fussy over her bits. I found this one gave her the best tongue relief , and she works very nicely in it.
